The Sands: A Place in the Sun--A Special Museum Exhibit and Opening Event
This special exhibit opening event, presented by the Junior League of Las Vegas and the Nevada State Museum, Las Vegas, kicks off a month-long exhibit spotlighting the former Sands Hotel and its legendary Copa Room.
Distinguished local historians/authors Dr. Michael Green, Dr. Larry Gragg, Dr. Eugene Moehring and Su Kim Chung will introduce the exhibit with a "summit about the Sands" and its impact on the Las Vegas entertainment, casino and tourism industries during the '50s and '60s--and even still today.
Reception and book signing to follow.
The opening program is complimentary, but advance reservations are required.
