Alive from the Sands Copa Room: A Complete Evening of Its Memorable Music and Legendary Entertainers


The Junior League of Las Vegas is proud to announce the second event in the Sands Copa Connection Program Series: “Alive from the Sands Copa Room-A Complete Evening of Its Memorable Music and Legendary Entertainers,” beginning at 5:30 p.m. Friday, May 9, at the Lowden Theater of the Performing Arts, 9th and Clark Streets.

The event will feature a pre-concert lecture series by Dr. Michael Green. His topic will be “The Rat Pack and the Sands.” This portion of the event is free and open to the public.

The second portion of the event, “LVA Unplugged-Alive from the Copa,” will begin at 7 p.m. and features the Grammy Award-winning Las Vegas Academy Jazz Ensemble bands with guest vocalist Marlena Shaw. Tickets are $8 (cash only) and available at the door. Advance tickets for groups can be purchased by calling (702) 499-4197.

A complimentary post-concert dessert reception will be hosted by the Junior League at its historic Morelli House, former home of Antonio Morelli, Copa Showroom orchestra leader from l954-l972. The house is located at 861 E. Bridger Ave, just one block from the theater.
